Information about the federal state of Brandenburg
The federal state with the most water is characterised by numerous rivers, lakes and agriculture. Fresh regional products such as pike, zander, eel and carp can therefore be found in numerous restaurants, but also on the domestic table. A not insignificant role is played by the potato, which was helped to a breakthrough in Germany thanks to an order by Frederick the Great. As the historical core of Prussia (together with Berlin), Brandenburg was also always interesting for immigrants. And so the dishes and specialities from the Fläming to the Spreewald are also marked by these influences.
