Regional specialties from Saxony-Anhalt

The federal state of Saxony-Anhalt is characterized by very different landscapes, but also mentalities. This is where the famous Bauhaus of Modernism in Dessau meets the medieval city of Quedlinburg (UNESCO World Heritage). Bötel with clay and straw and Harzer Roller (a sour milk cheese) are among the most famous specialties. This also includes brown cabbage with lump , Baumkuchen or the very tasty Filderkraut . In the Harz there is even a vintner and in the Salzlandkreis people eat pottsuse (a lard meat) or bratwurst (a coarse sausage), which are not on the grill.
