A creamy vanilla sauce is not only delicious with red fruit jelly and ice cream. With simple ingredients you can easily make them yourself.
Before there were ready-made bags, it was quite common to make the sauce yourself from various ingredients.

- 250 ml milk
- 20 g starch flour
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 pinch vanilla sugar ( make your own vanilla sugar )
- 40 g sugar
- 1 egg
- Separate the egg yolk from the egg white. Beat the egg whites until stiff and put both in the refrigerator.
- Mix the starch flourwith 4 tablespoons of milk.
- Bring the milk, vanilla sugar, salt and sugar to the boil. Then take it off the stove.
- Quickly stir in the starch mixture and put everything back on the stove. Bring to the boil again. Stir at the same time.
- Remove from heat and fold in the egg yolk. Then carefully fold in the egg white.
