Ingredients & Shopping list

  • 4 l water
  • 2 handful of salt
  • 3 kg small (firm) ghurken
  • 6 vine leaves
  • 6 stalks fresh dill
  • 10 peppercorns mixed white and black
  • 3 bay leaves
  • 2 chillie
  • 4 cherry leaves

Preparation

  • Wash, rinse and dry the gherkins and prick them several times with a needle.
  • Cover the bottom of the earthenware pot with chopped dill and the vine leaves.
  • Layer the gherkins alternately with the coarsely chopped dill, sprinkle the remaining spices in between.

Tips & Hints

Leave to infuse for 3-4 days.
