who we are
The Kriechel family of winegrowers has been cultivating vineyards in the Ahr Valley as a family business for three generations. Great importance is attached to near-natural management. Only organic fertilizers are used and insecticides and botryticides are not used. We have our barrels made from local Ahr oak.
We have already received numerous awards for our wines, such as the “German Red Wine Award”, “Ahr Wine of the Year”, high rankings in gourmet guides such as Falstaff, Vinum, Feinschmecker and more.
Our gin “Wingrut”, matured in Pinot Noir wine barrels, was awarded “Best German Matured” gin at the World Gin Award 2021!
We are connected to the Ahr region and invite you to one of our wine tastings in the sunny Ahr valley.
The Ahr region is home to the largest contiguous red wine growing area in Germany. Over 80% red grape varieties are grown here. And it is also home to the oldest registered winegrowers’ cooperative in the world.
In the summer of 2021, a spring flood caused enormous destruction: to villages, livelihoods, human lives and vineyards.
But giving up is not an option. Thanks to great support and help and the will not to give up what has been created, things continue on the Ahr. With your visit or the purchase of the high-quality regional products you support the region in its reconstruction.
