buttermelk
Instructions
Peel and chop the potatoes and cook until soft.
In the meantime, peel the onions and dice them together with the ham. Fry in a pan until crispy.
Drain the cooking water and pound the potatoes dry. Alternatively, mash with a fork.
Mix the mashed potatoes with ham and onions. Arrange on deep plates. Add the buttermilk.

In some areas the buttermilk is mixed with the potatoes before serving.
